Piedmont, OK : Three students injured after school bus crash in Piedmont Wednesday morning, February 22, 2017
Three students were injured after a school bus crashed into a pickup truck in Piedmont Wednesday morning.
Initial reports indicate a bus crashed with a pickup truck near Edmond Rd. and Stout Dr. in Piedmont.
"About 7:20 this morning we were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving a school bus. Upon our arrival we did find a pretty significant accident,” Chief Andy Logan with the Piedmont Fire Department said.
Authorities said it appears a truck pulled in front of a school bus, which was full of students.
"We had one patient transported to the trauma center via helicopter, and two patients transported to a local hospital,” Logan said.
All three victims are students, one of them was the driver of the truck.
"All of the other students were either released to their parents or refused treatment with consent of their parents,” Logan said.
Logan told NewsChannel 4 he’s thankful because it could have been a lot worse.
"We hate that it happened but we were very lucky in our opinion,” Logan said.
At last check, all three students were doing okay.
