Kingston, WA : Motorcyclist injured in crash in Kitsap County on Sunday afternoon, March 6, 2016

A motorcyclist was sent to a Seattle hospital after he lost his helmet while crashing Sunday afternoon on Hansville Road, according to news releases from North Kitsap Fire and Rescue and the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office.

The 53-year-old Hansville man was flown from Wolfle Elementary School to Harborview Medical Center, a release said, after he crashed just after 4 p.m. near the south intersection with Old Hansville Road. Riding a 2015 Harley-Davidson, the southbound motorcyclist tipped over and was ejected.

The road was closed while fire crews and the Sheriff's Office worked the scene.
