Springfield, IL : Motorcyclist killed in crash on I-57 on April, Saturday 15th 2017

A Mmotorcyclist died after crashing into a guard rail while traveling inbound on I-57 on the city's Far South Side late Saturday, authorities said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 11:55 p.m., Illinois State Police said.

State police and Chicago fire officials responded to the crash on I-57 near 107th Street in the Washington Heights neighborhood.

No other cars were involved in the crash, Master Sgt. R.A. Caves said.

Traffic was getting by on the shoulder of the expressway as the 111th Street exit was closed, Caves said.
