TUSCALOOSA, AL : Bessemer man dies in single-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County on Thursday, 1st August 2024

A car crash that occurred Thursday afternoon in Tuscaloosa County has claimed the life of one man.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), at approximately 2:21 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 57-year-old Wayne Chastine of Bessemer was driving his 2016 Toyota Corolla when he left the roadway, striking a tree. The passenger in the vehicle, 64-year-old Charles Woods was injured and transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The accident happened on Alabama 216, five miles east of Brookwood in Tuscaloosa County. Chastine was not wearing a seatbelt.
