Kennewick, WA : Teen driver hits back of semi near Connell on Saturday, September 9, 2017

A California teen was injured Saturday evening when he tried to change lanes on Highway 395 near Connell and rear-ended a semi.

Nicholas K. Arody, 18, of Pasadena, was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.

The Washington State Patrol said Arody and the truck driver, Adam C. Prosser, 34, of Idaho, were both headed north on the highway at Lind Road, one mile north of the Connell city limits, about 5:04 p.m.

Troopers blamed it on inattention and Arody was cited with second-degree negligent driving. He was driving a 2016 Toyota Scion.
