Las Vegas, NV : Man And Baby Hit By Vehicle on South Rainbow Boulevard near Warm Springs Road on Monday, November 24, 2014
A man was killed and a baby escaped with minor injuries after a hit-and-run incident in the southwest valley that occurred before 11 a.m. today, according to Metro Police.
Witnesses say the car, a dark gray Honda Civic with a Nevada license plate starting with the numbers 948, has visible damage to the right front of the car. The driver is described as a woman from 20 to 30 years old, according to a press release.
The 63-year-old grandfather was pushing his 1-year-old granddaughter in a stroller on the east side of South Rainbow Boulevard near West Warm Springs Road when a Honda Civic headed north drove off the road to the right to pass other vehicles, striking the pedestrians, according to police.
The man and baby were both taken to University Medical Center Trauma, however, medical personnel were not able to save him, according to police.
The baby was conscious when medical personnel arrived, Officer Laura Meltzer said. She was released from the hospital with minor injuries, according to the Metro press release.
