MONTGOMERY COUNTY, AL : Child killed, four injured in crash on I-85 in Montgomery County on Saturday, 10th August 2024

In Montgomery County, a child was killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-85 near the 15-mile marker.

On Saturday, August 10, at approximately 5:13 p.m., a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe left the roadway striking a guardrail, then proceeded to re-enter the roadway and overturned.

Five people were traveling in the vehicle.

The driver, Craig T. Hayes, 31, and the passengers, 36-year-old Roderica Reese, a 9-year-old, and a 4-year-old were all transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The 10-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene.
