Mentor, OH : 34-year-old Kyle Elig died after two-car crash at Johnnycake Ridge and King Memorial roads on Thursday morning, June 25, 2015

A Mentor man died in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning.

According to Mentor police, it happened at 6:10 a.m. at Johnnycake Ridge and King Memorial roads.

Kyle Elig, 34, of Mentor, was traveling westbound on Johnnycake Ridge Road when his vehicle crossed the center line, striking a vehicle head-on.

Officials say Elig was sent to Lake Health West Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The other driver, a 73-year-old woman from Madison, Ohio, was sent to Hillcrest Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say it does not appear that drugs or alcohol played a role.

The crash closed roads for more than an hour to investigate the scene.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation.
