Clayton, IL : Clayton woman seriously injured in crash on Thursday morning, February 23, 2017

A Clayton woman was seriously injured in a Thursday morning crash southeast of Clayton.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department reports a 2007 GMC Yukon driven by Shannon Horn, 27, was southbound on E2950th, north of N1400th Ave., at 10:44 a.m. The department said the vehicle left the road, striking a utility pole and coming to a stop in the treeline.

Horn was transported to Blessing Hospital by Air Evac with serious injuries.

Horn was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to wear a seat belt and driving under the influence, pending lab results.

The department was assisted by Adams County Ambulance, Clayton Fire/Rescue and Central Adams Fire/Rescue.
