Toledo, OR : Driver killed, passenger seriously injured in Hwy 20 crash in Lincoln County on Friday, November 11, 2016
A driver was killed and a passenger was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 in Lincoln County.
Emergency crews responded to the intersection with Pioneer Trail near Toledo at 7 p.m. Friday.
Investigators said a 1995 Buick LeSabre driven by Angelica Kenny, 22, of Toledo, had stopped at a stop sign.
Police said Kenny then failed to yield to oncoming traffic while turning westbound onto the highway.
The car was hit by an eastbound 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Kenny was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, 24-year-old Evan Wixted of Toledo, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and underwent emergency surgery.
The 17-year-old driver of the Jeep and a 17-year-old passenger in the Jeep sustained minor injuries, according to police.
Oregon State Police is continuing to investigate the crash with the assistance of the Lincoln County Crash Team.
