Tallahassee, FL : Good Samaritan killed in Orange County crash on Monday, January 23rd 2017
A Good Samaritan was killed in a crash Monday night in the westbound lanes of State Road 528 in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Just after 9 p.m., a woman pulled over to help a man in a “disabled vehicle” on the side of the road near mile marker 22, east of State Road 417. The unidentified woman got out of her vehicle and went to help the man. That’s when another westbound vehicle slammed into her car parked nearby, then struck her.
She died at the scene.
“Here we are in the world and we just want to help,” Montes said. “Sometimes it’s better not to.”
The westbound lanes of State Road 528 are blocked after the collision until about 1 a.m., Montes said. Traffic is being directed to exit at Dallas Boulevard.
