Broward sheriff’s divers found a red Jaguar and the two bodies hours after the car crashed through a fence and into a canal Monday morning.

Broward sheriff’s spokeswoman Keyla Conception said the Jaguar veered off the road and into a canal at Northwest 29th Avenue and 14th Street in unincorporated Broward near Fort Lauderdale.

Witnesses told Herald news partner CBS4 the car zoomed down the street at over 100 mph before the tragedy.

“They were driving around the neighborhood crazy fast, they don’t stop when they make the turn, they be going fast down this neighborhood and everybody always makes a complaint to the cops ,” Tim Ibrahim said. “I called the cops.”

Neighbors, who said rescuers were slow to get into the water, tried to help. Authorities said the canal is deep and the water was murky.
