Tallahassee, FL : Police identify three killed after Jaguar plunges into canal on Monday, December 26th 2016
All three added up to tragedy early Monday, with as many as three people dead.
Two bodies have been found. One person is missing and presumed dead. The driver was rescued.
Broward sheriff’s divers found a red Jaguar and the two bodies hours after the car crashed through a fence and into a canal Monday morning.
Police identified the victims at Jasmine Davis, 23, and Jarvis Mosley, 21. One passenger, 26-year-old Lucienne Pierre, has not been located but is believed to be dead, officials said.
One passenger, 21-year-old Keiontae Myers, managed to get out of the car after the crash and said three other adults remained inside.
Broward sheriff’s spokeswoman Keyla Conception said the Jaguar veered off the road and into a canal at Northwest 29th Avenue and 14th Street in unincorporated Broward near Fort Lauderdale.
Witnesses told Herald news partner CBS4 the car zoomed down the street at over 100 mph before the tragedy.
“They were driving around the neighborhood crazy fast, they don’t stop when they make the turn, they be going fast down this neighborhood and everybody always makes a complaint to the cops ,” Tim Ibrahim said. “I called the cops.”
Neighbors, who said rescuers were slow to get into the water, tried to help. Authorities said the canal is deep and the water was murky.
