Tulsa,OK : 8-year-old dies after all-terrain vehicle wreck in LeFlore County on December, Thursday 21st 2017

An 8-year-old boy died Thursday evening east of Poteau after the all-terrain vehicle he was riding in crashed.

The 14-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle, a 2016 Polaris 900, and the vehicle rolled, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers state in a report.

The ATV departed the road to the right, over corrected and then departed the road to the left, according to the report. The vehicle rolled onto its side. The 8-year-old and a 13-year-old were thrown from the vehicle.

The ATV pinned the 8-year-old. Troopers state the 8-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, located less than a mile east of Poteau, due to "massive injuries," according to the report.
