GRETNA, NE : Authorities identify driver killed in crash on Interstate 80 near Gretna on Tuesday, 5th March 2024

One person died and another was hurt in a crash Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 80 just west of Omaha.

Around 1:45 p.m., an accident involving multiple vehicles blocked the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 at 168th Street, just before Highway 370.

Initial investigation by SCSO indicated a red Dodge Ram driven by 64-year-old Gary Vaughn of Lincoln was headed west when it crossed the median and struck a black Dodge Ram going east.

Vaughn died at the scene. The driver of the black Dodge was taken to CUMC-Bergan Mercy Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
