Richmond, VA : 2-year-old dies after crash in Richmond on Tuesday, May 10, 2016

A 2-year-old girl has died from injuries she received in a crash Tuesday, Richmond police said Wednesday.

Queen Maultsby of the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike, died late Tuesday, police said.

According to police, the crash happened shortly before 5 p.m. when a vehicle driven by the child's mother — Britney Maultsby, 22 — collided with another vehicle at the intersection of North 18th and Coalter streets.

Four people in Britney Maultsby’s vehicle and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to a local hospital for evaluation, police said. The driver of the other vehicle remains hospitalized.

Charges are pending, police said.
