PADUCAH, KY : Paducah man dead after head-on collision on I-24 on Tuesday, 5th March 2024

One man is dead and two other people were injured after a collision on Interstate 24 Tuesday night.

Around 9:45 p.m. on March 5, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 9 mile marker of Interstate 24 regarding a head-on collision. The investigation revealed a 2008 Cadillac CTS, operated by 20-year-old Tri Nguyen of Paducah was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the interstate. It was also reported the vehicle did not have the headlights on.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Cadillac collided with a 2004 Freightliner, operated by 64-year-old Carol Gordon of McDonough, Georgia. 37-year-old Augustine Idemudia of Cypress, Texas was a passenger.

Nguyen was pronounced dead at the scene. The passengers of the Freightliner were taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
