LITTLE ROCK TOWNSHIP, AR : Coroner confirms Yorkville woman died in crash near Plano on Thursday, 14th November, 2019
The Kendall County coroner confirmed a Yorkville woman died from related injuries following a traffic crash earlier on Thursday, Nov. 14 near Plano.
Kendall County Coroner Jacquie Purcell said Marian Griswold, 88, of the 800 block of North Bridge Street in Yorkville, died from blunt force injuries as a result of the traffic crash. She said there is not going to be an autopsy performed, but the office will perform toxicology tests."But there's no indiciation of any toxicology involvement," meaning there's no reason to beileve she was driving under the influence of any substance, Purcell said.
Kendall County Sheriff's officials said in a Friday, Nov. 15 news release that Griswold was pronounced dead at the scene.
The update comes after Kendall County Sheriff's deputies responded to a traffic crash involving two vehicles that occurred in the early afternoon, Thursday, Nov. 14 near Griswold Springs Road and Little Rock Road near Walmart in Plano. Purcell confirmed there were two people involved in the accident, and Griswold was the only death resulting from the crash.
Sheriff's officials said in the release deputies responded to a call about the accident with injuries at about 12:22 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14. Early reports said first responders set up road closures on Griswold Springs Road at Little Rock Road and other nearby areas at about 12:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14.
Sheriff's officials said in the Friday, Nov. 15 news release the other driver involved in the crash Menky Mata, 79, of Somonauk was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
