Mashpee, MA : 7-year-old girl seriously injured after being hit by car in Mashpee on Wednesday, July 20, 2016

Authorities say a 7-year-old girl is in critical condition after she was hit by a car while riding her bike in Mashpee.

Police say the child was crossing Route 130 around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when she was hit by a driver traveling eastbound.

She was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital with injuries that police say appear to be life-threatening.

The Hyannis driver was taken to Falmouth Hospital for stress-related issues.

No one was immediately identified. The crash is under investigation.
