A Saturday afternoon head-on crash on Highway 101 just north of Cannon Beach claimed the lives of a Manzanita couple, and injured two other people.
According to Oregon State Police reports, at about 3:15 p.m., a southbound 2011 Hyundai sport utility vehicle crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The accident occurred near milepost 28.
The driver of the Hyundai, Gregory Heron, and passenger Martha Heron were killed in the collision. The couple, both 64, were pronounced dead at the scene.
