A pickup truck crashed into a small car Saturday morning while trying to make a turn in East Portland.

Portland Police arrived at NE 119th Avenue and Glisan Street just after 8 a.m. Saturday, where a pickup truck towing a trailer had collided with a car.

The car's driver was seriously injured in the crash, officers at the scene told KATU News.

Crash investigators found the pickup was heading east on NE Glisan St. and pulled into the turn lane. The truck tried to make the left-hand turn and hit the car while crossing the westbound lanes.

Weather was not a factor in the crash, investigators added.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene until police arrived. Police are still looking into the crash, but preliminary information shows the truck's driver wasn't distracted or impaired.

Crews closed Northeast Glisan Street for a short time to clear the scene.
