MONTICELLO, MN : New London woman seriously injured in car crash on Sunday, 22nd April 2018

Rachel Elizabeth Helland, 21, of New London reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries in a car crash at 12:04 p.m. Sunday on westbound I-94, one mile east of Monticello. According to the state patrol report, Helland was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Helland’s passenger, Brennon Chanh Kampsen, 21, of New London, was also injured in the crash, but his injuries were non-life threatening. Kampsen also was not wearing his seatbelt, according to the report.

Helland was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, while Kampsen was taken to North Memorial Hospital.

In the second vehicle, the driver, Roger Kent Sundby, 78, and passenger, Troy Roger Sundby, 45, both of Grand Forks, North Dakota, were not injured. Both were wearing their seatbelt.
