Drunken driver injures state trooper and another in Miramar beach,Florida
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a Friday night accident involving a drunken driver that injured a state trooper and one other person, Local 15 reported.Trooper Lester Abreu was conducting a field sobriety test on suspected intoxicated driver Eddy Hardy, 41, just after 11 p.m. on Highway 98 in Miramar Beach. Hardy had been involved in an earlier traffic crash at the same location, according to Local 15.As Abreu conducted the sobriety test, a Jeep Cherokee, driven by Raul Sivas, 34, hit both the patrol car and Hardy's Ford, causing it to flip. The patrol car was pushed into Abreu and Hardy, injuring both, Local 15 reported.
Abreu was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Sandestin where he was treated and released Saturday morning, while Hardy suffered critical injuries and was flown to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
