Harris County, TX : Woman involved in head-on collision runs from scene early Sunday morning, January 29, 2017

A woman ran after crashing her vehicle head-on into another car early Sunday morning, deputies said.

A woman and her passenger were traveling in a Ford Expedition eastbound on Rankin Road around 2 a.m. Sunday, according to officials.

The woman veered into the westbound lane, colliding with a woman driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee, deputies said.

Deputies said the woman driving the Ford got out and ran to a nearby hotel to hide. Her passenger claimed that he was driving the Ford, according to officials.

Deputies said witnesses saw the woman driving, so deputies found her hiding and took her into custody.

According to officials, the woman was intoxicated.

The woman in the Jeep was taken to the hospital in serious condition, deputies said.
