Somis, CA : One person injured in a head-on crash near East Los Angeles Avenue and Aggen Road on Thursday, Nov 12, 2015

A fatality was reported in a head-on crash Thursday in Somis, officials said.

The California Highway Patrol reported the crash at 6:08 p.m. near East Los Angeles Avenue and Aggen Road.

Two people were trapped in one of the vehicles involved in the crash, the patrol reported. Crews with the Ventura County Fire Department freed them by 6:40 p.m., authorities said.

One person suffered critical injuries and the other suffered minor injuries, officials said. Both were taken to local hospitals.

The patrol later indicated one of the crash victims had died.

Another head-on crash was reported about 6:20 p.m. on northbound Highway 23 near the Sunset Hills Boulevard exit in Thousand Oaks. The driver suffered minor injuries.
