Fremont, CA : One person was injured in a three car crash at North of the Mowry Avenue On Thursday, May 26th, 2016
A SIG Alert was issued after a pair of crashes involving at least three cars on Interstate 880 early Thursday has been cleared, the California Highway Patrol said.
The wrecks on southbound I-880 hospitalized one person and shut down two lanes of the freeway for more than an hour. At least one car overturned in the wrecks, which occurred around 4:52 a.m. just north of the Mowry Avenue exit, CHP Officer
Kevin Bartlett said. The two far left lanes were shut down after the crash, and the CHP issued a SIG Alert for severe traffic at 5:07 a.m.
The CHP canceled the SIG Alert just before 6:30 a.m.
The two wrecks happened at virtually the same time and were recorded as a single crash incident, Bartlett said. A Honda Civic and Chevrolet Suburban were reported to be involved in the wreck, and one of them overturned, according to the CHP.
The CHP also reported that a nude man was seen walking on the freeway shortly after the crash, but it was not known immediately if that man had been involved in the crash.
