Manteno, IL : Sandy Hunte, a veteran kindergarten teacher dies in 2-car crash on East 7000N Road at North 5000E Road on Wednesday morning, Nov 4, 2015

Sandy Hunte, a veteran kindergarten teacher in the Manteno school district, was killed this morning following a two-car crash this morning on East 7000N Road at North 5000E Road a mile east of Manteno.

Hunte, 60, was pronounced dead at a local hospital despite the efforts of two Good Samaritans and emergency personnel to revive her at the scene sometime after 7 a.m.

Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner said an autopsy is scheduled for today.

Manteno Fire Chief Scott O'Brien said when his department arrived at the scene two people were administering CPR to Hunte.

One of the cars was on its top and there was a small fire in the engine compartment.

The other driver, a man, was out of his vehicle. He was taken to a local hospital.

An Illinois State Police accident reconstruction team is on scene.
