Three family members were killed in a wrong-way collision Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials said an officer spotted the wrong-way driver at about 10:30 p.m. The vehicle was traveling southbound in the fast lane of Interstate 505 northbound near Highway 16 in Yolo County.
The vehicle struck a car head-on.
The wrong-way driver died at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle and two of three passengers also died at the scene, the officer said. On Sunday, the CHP said the father was in good condition.
Investigators closed the roadway for about 5 1/2 hours.
