Marshall, MO : Two dead after crash at Hwy 65 on April, Friday, 14th 2017
Two Marshall residents died Friday, April 14, after a crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 65 and College Street at 6:30 p.m.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the incident occurred when a 2016 Ford, driven by Janice Jones, 80, of Marshall, failed to yield to a 2012 Harley Davidson. The motorcycle struck the right rear corner panel on the Ford, ejecting the bike’s occupants – driver Nathaniel D. Offield, 38, and occupant Shelley L. Offield, 37. Both of the Offields were pronounced dead at Fitzgibbon Hospital and transported to Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, the report stated.
The couple’s next of kin were notified. This was MSHP Troop A’s 22nd fatality crash this year. Jones did not sustain any injuries, and all parties were wearing safety devices, according to the report.
