Waveland, MS : A men was dead after being hit by motorcycle at Highway 90 On Saturday, 15th October, 2016

A motorcycle crash in Waveland Saturday morning has left one man dead.

The accident happened at 7 a.m. Officials say a Chevy Aveo was traveling eastbound on Highway 90 and was turning north onto McLaurin Street when it struck the motorcycle.

Hancock County Coroner Jim Faulk confirmed to WLOX News Now that Roy Mitchell, 49 of Gulfport, died in the crash from blunt force trauma caused by the accident. Mitchell was the only rider on the motorcycle, which was

traveling westbound.

Mitchell was taken to Hancock Medical Center for his injuries but later passed away. The driver of the other vehicle, whose name is not being released, was not injured.
