Pueblo, CO : A Boone man died in a crash on U.S. 50 on Tuesday, October, 24th 2017
A Boone man died Tuesday night in a crash on U.S. 50 after he was ejected from his vehicle when it rolled twice, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The accident occurred about 8:15 p.m. on eastbound U.S. 50 near mile post 328, which is in Pueblo County near 34th Lane.
The patrol said a 2001 Ford Windstar van being driven by Matthew S. Devries, 29, of Boone, was traveling east in the left-hand lane of U.S. 50 when the van drifted into the center median.
Devries then over-corrected to the right, causing the van to rotate clockwise and travel across both eastbound lanes and off the side of the road while rolling twice and ejecting Devries, according to the patrol.
Devries was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead on scene by the Pueblo County coroner.
Drug use is being considered as a contributing factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, the patrol said.
