ELL COUNTY, KY : Deputy injured when car slides on snow while responding to wreck on Saturday, 30th January 2021
A Bell County sheriff’s deputy was injured Saturday night when his patrol car slid on ice and crashed into anther car as he was responding to anther wreck call.
According to WRIL Radio, Deputy Johnathon Franklin was about a mile from the head-on crash on Highway 119 in the Calloway community when he rounded a curve near the entrance to Balkan and his car slid in a patch of snow and slush. It slid into the oncoming lane, smashing into a Ford Taurus, the radio station reported.
Franklin was able to radio for help. He was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the Taurus refused medical assistance, WRIL reported.
