Saint Augustine, FL : 18-year-old died in single-vehicle crash on State Road 16 early Wednesday morning, September 28, 2016

An 18-year-old died following a single vehicle crash early Wednesday morning on State Road 16 in St. Augustine, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Police say the deceased, Harrison T. Wilker of St. Augustine, was a passenger in a Porsche Boxster being driven by Jesse Viva, 21, also of St. Augustine. The vehicle was traveling west on SR 16 west of Masters Drive at about 1 a.m. when it left the road and collided through a chain link fence and metal sign. The vehicle then overturned, ejecting Wilker and coming to a rest against a wooden utility pole on the westbound shoulder of SR 16.

Police say Wilker was not wearing a seat belt, and that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

Wilker died at Flagler Hospital from injuries sustained in the crash, according to FHP. FHP says the crash is still under investigation and charges are pending.
