Cochise County, AZ : Willcox man dies in crash on U.S. 191 near Pearce on Monday morning, Nov 23, 2015

A Willcox man died in an early-morning crash in Cochise County on Monday, Nov. 23, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Two vehicles collided on U.S. 191 near Kansas Settlement Road south of Willcox around 5:12 a.m., according to DPS public information officer Quentin Mehr.

The collision closed traffic on U.S. 191 until 8:30 a.m.

According to Mehr, 77-year-old Jose Ramon Garcia died at the scene when the Toyota he was driving collided with another car after the Toyota failed to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Kansas Settlement Road and US. 191. The other driver had minor injuries and refused medical treatment.

Neither person was wearing seat belts, according to Mehr.
