COLUMBIA, SC : Gaston woman arrested for DUI again after prison sentence for drunk driving crash that killed daughter on Friday, 13th September 2024

A woman who was imprisoned for a drunk driving crash that left her four-year-old daughter dead was arrested Friday for another DUI, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department (LCSD).

WIS News 10 reported in 2005 that Dana Rae Rikard, 50, was originally arrested in April 2002 after swerving into oncoming traffic and hitting another car near Pelion. Rikard’s daughter, who authorities said was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle and died in the crash.
