According to officials with the Texas Department of Transportation, a tanker was heading south on FM 2130 towards Highway 114, about a mile and a half east of Smyer.
Officials say the driver of the tanker ran a stop sign and collided with a silver Taurus that was headed west towards Smyer. That collision sent the tanker into a red pickup truck that was headed east towards Lubbock. The red pickup truck was dragged down the roadway.
Two occupants of the Taurus were taken to Covenant Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tanker and the pickup truck were not injured.
Highway 114, headed eastbound, is blocked at FM 168 to FM 2130 as they work on cleaning up the crash site. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and find an alternate route.
