Tyler, TX : 1 dead after 18-wheeler, car collide on Loop 49 early Tuesday morning, January 20, 2015

The name has been released of the person killed in an accident on Loop 49 early tuesday morning.

Around 8:00 a.m., DPS responded to a call of a wreck at Loop 49 and Old Jacksonville Highway. A semi traveling westbound collided with a passenger car that was being driven by 29-year-old William Zachary barnes, and was traveling eastbound after the car turned sideways into the westbound lane. An explosion then ensued.

The driver of the truck was able to escape and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
