Emporia, KS : Man taken to hospital after one-vehicle accident in northeast Emporia on Friday night, June 24, 2016

One man was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries Friday night after a one-vehicle accident in Emporia.

At about 8:26 p.m. Friday evening, scanner traffic indicated an injury accident in northeast Emporia.

The driver of a Ford pickup truck was turning north on Weaver Street when his vehicle left the roadway on the west side of the road. The truck took out a fire hydrant and traveled through two yards before coming to a rest horizontally in a driveway.

No names have been released and the condition of the man who was injured — and taken to Newman Regional Health by Emporia Fire and Rescue — is not available at this time.
