HILTON, NY : Elderly pedestrian identified in fatal accident in Hilton on Saturday, 25th May 2019

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of an elderly pedestrian who was struck and killed in the village of Hilton. According to the Sheriff's Office, 83-year old Hans Luechauer of Hilton was hit while crossing Main Street shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday

Monroe County Sheriff's deputies said Hans Luechauer was struck by a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was turning onto Main Street. Officials say it was raining heavily at the time of the accident, and the truck driver immediately stopped and called 911.

Deputies said the driver assisted the pedestrian until first responders arrived. When deputies arrived on the scene, Hans Luechauer was being treated by medical personnel.

The pedestrian was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The truck driver was uninjured.
