Arizona City,AZ : 2 injured in head-on collision near CAC on November, Wednesday 8th 2017

Two people were seriously injured in a head-on collision near Central Arizona College Wednesday, authorities said.

The collision occurred around 12:39 p.m. on Val Vista Boulevard, just west of Henness Road, according to a Pinal County Sheriff’s Office deputy on the scene. The deputy said one woman had to be extricated from a vehicle and another person was airlifted to a Phoenix-area hospital.


The vehicles collided and then both ended up in a ditch on the side of the road, the deputy said. Val Vista was closed in both directions while first responders were on the scene.

Pinal County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Navideh Forghani said a female driver swerved to avoid hitting debris in the road, causing her to over-correct and hit a Jeep Cherokee head-on.
