woman killed in a car near Birmingham Alabama

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office this afternoon identified the woman killed in a crash on Interstate 59 near Roebuck as 61-year-old Sheila Brew-Brown.

There were no other cars involved in the crash, and no other injuries reported in the incident, police said.

Birmingham officers are still investigating the crash.Brew-Brown was one of two women killed in crashes today in Jefferson County.

Elaine Rollins Peterson, 58, of Homewood died after the SUV she was driving flipped into the median after hitting the back of a service truck about 5:20 a.m. on Pinson Valley Parkway.
