Mesa County ,CO :Motorcyclist who died in crash ID’d on Saturday afternoon ,July 25th 2015
A 60-year-old Grand Junction man was identified on Sunday by the Mesa County Coroner’s Office as the motorcyclist killed in a Saturday afternoon crash.
Gary Willis died from the injuries he received after his motorcycle crashed into the side of a truck about 3 p.m. in the area of D Road and East Grove Drive, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
Willis was heading west when a truck traveling east turned in front of his motorcycle, the Police Department said.
The name of the driver of the truck has not been released, and the Police Department did not have any updates on the investigation on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Coroner’s Office ruled the cause of Willis’ death as blunt-force head injuries and the manner of death as an accident.
Willis was not wearing a helmet and results of a toxicology report are pending, the Coroner’s Office said.
