Boise, ID : Teen boy crashes stolen car into bridge pillar on Saturday, Nov 21, 2015

A 16-year-old boy who stole a vehicle and then crashed it into a bridge pillar suffered what appear to be non-life threatening injuries in a weekend crash, the Ada County Sheriff's Office says.

The incident started when a deputy spotted the driver of a Ford Escort weave in and out of the lane on Overland Saturday night and then switched lanes without signaling.

After an attempted traffic stop, the sheriff's office says the teen boy took off and hit speeds up to 80 miles per hour down Overland. The teen ended up driving over spike strips and drove into a concrete pillar.

No other vehicles were involved and the teen was the only one in the vehicle.

The sheriff's office says it's recommending the juvenile prosecutor's office to charge the boy with felony eluding and theft.
