PORTLAND, OR : 2 killed in stolen car crash identified as former students at Portland high school on Saturday, 29th June 2024

Two people killed in a stolen car crash last week in southeast Portland have been identified as former students at Ida B. Wells High School.

The incident happened during the early morning hours when Gresham police tried to stop a car at Southeast 159th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. Police say the driver did not stop and ended up crashing into another car and a utility pole at Southeast 139th Avenue and Southeast Division Street.

Police later learned that car had been stolen.
