Boone County, KY : 81-year-old NKY woman killed in crash in Union on Monday, October 17, 2016

A Northern Kentucky woman died in a two-vehicle collision Monday in Union, Kentucky, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Office.

Shirley Stephenson, 81, was in the process of making a turn from Old Union Road onto U.S. 42 and came into the path of Madison Barnes, 18, of Union, who was traveling westbound on U.S. 42.

Stephenson was transported via helicopter to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where she died at 6:27 p.m. as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the collision.
