One person is dead and five others seriously injured after a three-vehicle crash in Marion County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate after State Route 309 was closed at Marion-Williamsport Road, west of Marion, for nearly two hours following the multi-vehicle crash.

Troopers said the crash happened at about 7pm Sunday. Timothy Gullet, 49, was flown by medical helicopter to Grant Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Five other victims, including three children, were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Troopers said the driver of one of the cars was traveling southbound on Marion-Williamsport Road and failed to yield at a stop sign.

Charges have not been filed as the crash remains under investigation.
