Midland County MI : 31- Years old Lee Township man killed in Midland County crash on Sunday ,July 26th 2015
A 51-year-old Lee Township man died in a crash at 4:14 p.m. on Sunday, the Midland County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Pronounced dead at the scene was John Stark, who was driving a green 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on South 10 Mile Road when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road. The Jeep continued traveling northbound down the ditch line for about 285 feet before striking a driveway embankment.
The vehicle struck a mailbox, and overturned in the ditch. The driver was partially ejected during the crash and the vehicle came to rest on top of him.
The sheriff’s office reports that Stark was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash. The sheriff’s office is waiting for toxicology reports for a final determination.
The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by Lee Township Fire Rescue, Mid Michigan Health EMS, and Chief Deputy Medical Examiner Dennis Wagner.
