Three people died after a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. 63 in Texas County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash was about 7:40 a.m. Thursday, seven miles north of Cabool.

Troopers say a northbound 1999 Buick Park Avenue driven by Lydia Kothe collided head-on with a southbound 1996 Buick LeSabre driven by Evelyn Hickerson. Kothe lived in Mountain View. Hickerson and her passenger, Herbert Douglas, both lived in Houston.

Douglas, 89, and Hickerson, 68, died at the scene. Kothe, 66, died at the hospital in Houston shortly after the crash. Troopers say all three were wearing their seat belts.

The Highway Patrol's online report does not say why the cars crashed.
