Memphis, TN : Pedestrian hit and killed on I-10 in Jackson County; driver identified on Saturday October 1 2016

A D'Iberville man trying to flag down help after his car broke down was killed on Interstate 10 in Jackson County Saturday morning.

Claude W. McEwen, 50, was near exit 50 in when officials say he was hit around 1:45 a.m. by a 63-year-old Lucedale woman.

The woman was reportedly driving eastbound in a blue 2009 Mitsubishi Lance when she hit McEwen, who was walking in the second lane from the shoulder after stopping due to car trouble.

An investigation is underway by the Mississippi State Highway Patrol but no charges have been filed.
