Indian River County, FL : One person serious injuries after a two-car crash near Vero Beach on Monday, March 28, 2016

One person was being treated for serious injuries Monday after a two-car crash at 82nd Avenue and Eighth Street, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened about 5:45 p.m. The injured motorist was flown to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce, troopers said.

After the collision, the cars stopped along the guardrail on the southeast side of the intersection.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation. Names of the people involved in the crash were not available.
