An East Sandwich man has been charged with OUI after he crashed his truck into a utility pole during an overdose in New Bedford Sunday night.
Police say at around 6 p.m., 46-year-old Leo Curran Jr. was driving his Ford F150 when he overdosed and struck the utility pole on Logan Street. The crash cause several outages.
Police arrived and found Curran with severe facial injuries and showing signs of an overdose. Narcan was administered and he was transported to St. Lukes Hospital for treatment.
Curran will be summoned to court for charges of operating under the influence of drugs and operating to endanger.
